Hard Edge Abstraction

Each class will start with a lecture of hard-edge painters, focusing on those already in the traditional art cannon, as well as up and coming artists working in a hard-edge style. Then we will move on to an assignment for that week regarding a hard-edge approach - i.e. focus on geometric shapes, organic shapes, large vs. small, pattern etc. If necessary, a live demo will be provided for the students regarding the assignment. Student work will then be critiqued in the following class.
Beginner-Advanced Level. Students should have taken a painting class before.
