Online Figure Drawing and Painting through the eyes of Bay Area Figurative Art with Laura Shabott and Alana Barrett (SERIES 3 of 3)

WORKSHOP DATE: October 24

WHEN: Sunday, 10am - 3pm

WHERE: Virtual on Zoom, Provincetown Art Association and Museum

SESSIONS: 1 Session

PRICE: $140 for members, $150 for non members, $420 for full series

TEACHERS: Laura Shabott and Alana Barrett

Hofmann’s school created two generations of Abstract Expressionists and the Bay Area Figurative Art movement was a direct reaction and rebellion to AbEX. Our course begins with a lecture of the work of David Parks, Joan Brown, Manuel Neri, and others. Exercises with a model will show you the elements of this art movement through two and half hours of drawing and painting with a break for lunch. Each artist, no matter what your level of experience, will learn the possibility of abstracting the figure directly with the paint, a wonderful discovery and very freeing.

**Please note this is the first of a three part workshop series. Students have the ability to sign up for an Individual Workshop or for the Entire Series at once by specifying “Shabott Barrett Series” at Registration. Full series also include 4 sessions to our renowned Chester I. Solomon Life Drawing.
